Before and after

Same recording. Much easier to follow.

A raw screen recording makes viewers hunt for the important part. Drag the slider to see the same moment after a few minutes in FluidEditor.

  • Zoom in on the detailDrag a box on the preview. The zoom eases in and out on its own.
  • Point at what mattersArrows, numbered steps, callouts, highlights and spotlights.
  • Caption every lineReadable on a phone, and exported as SRT for YouTube.
  • Make it look finishedA background, rounded corners and a shadow in one click.
After: the recording in a framed window on a purple background, with the chart in a spotlight, an ‘Over budget’ callout pointing at one bar, and a caption. Before: the same moment as a plain, full-screen spreadsheet recording with no annotations. Before After

An example tutorial made in FluidEditor: “Total a column and chart it”.

How it works

From idea to finished video, in one place.

No juggling a script doc, a screen recorder, an editor and a captions tool. These are real screens from FluidEditor.

Step 1 of 4

Know what you’ll say before you hit record.

Write the idea, who it’s for and what they should be able to do afterwards. Then script each step: what you’ll say and what’s on screen. FluidEditor estimates the running time as you write. It’s optional, and it makes the recording much quicker.

The Script & Storyboard tab: a hook, an outline of four sections with timings, and narration with visual notes for each segment.
Annotations

Show viewers exactly where to look.

Pick a tool, drag on the preview, and it appears at the right moment in your video. Change when it shows up and how it animates on the timeline. Hover a tile to see it play.

A marker-pen box over the words that matter.

Zoom & pan

Drag a box on the preview.

Screenshots

Framed, with a pop-in.

Scenes

Title, steps, outro.

Script to timeline

Write it once. It becomes your captions.

One click puts your script on the timeline: each section becomes a marker and each line becomes text, timed by how long it takes to say. Read along as you record your voice-over, then use the same lines as captions.

  • Captions

Import or export SRT and WebVTT. Lines wrap at 42 characters, the broadcast guideline.

  • Voice-over

Record against the picture. Music dips under your voice on its own.

  • Text presets

Title, lower third, caption, quote and more, with in and out animations.

  • Clean sound

Track volume, solo and mute, and loudness set for streaming on export.

What is FluidEditor?
A video editor that runs in your browser, made for videos that teach or explain something: software tutorials, product demos, how-tos, lessons and explainers. You can plan and script the video, record your screen and voice, edit it and export it, all in one place.
Do I need to install anything?
No. FluidEditor runs in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on your computer. Final videos render on our servers, so even an older laptop exports a sharp 4K file.
I’ve never edited a video. Is it hard?
Most of what a tutorial needs is one drag on the preview: drag a box to zoom in, drag to draw an arrow, click to add a numbered step. Every change can be undone, and your work saves as you go.
Is it only for software tutorials?
No. People also use it for explainer videos with shapes and icons, YouTube videos, course lessons and onboarding videos for their team. If you’re showing or explaining something, it fits.
Can I record my screen with it?
Yes. Record a browser tab, a window or your whole screen, with your microphone. The recording goes into your library and onto the timeline, ready to edit. You can also upload videos you’ve already recorded.
Does it zoom in automatically where I click?
Not yet. A web page can’t see where you click in other apps, so you add zooms yourself: drag a box on the preview and the zoom eases in, holds and eases out. It takes a couple of seconds each.
What happens when the free trial ends?
Pick Pro or Team to keep editing. Your projects and media stay where they are. The trial lasts 14 days and includes every feature.
Who makes FluidEditor?
FluidEditor is made by Aeflow. You sign in with an Aeflow account, using an email code or Google.
